Macklem House History
The name of our store is based on the origin of the building. This grand historic home was designed by the famous Maxwell Brothers, architects. It was built as a fabulous summer residence of the Macklem family. Our antique shop occupies the main floor.
Brian MacDonald
Brian’s interest has been in the area of clocks, pocket watches, and mechanical wrist watches. Brian is a member of the NAWCC (National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors). His collection of pocket watches, wrist watches, and clocks will be one of the largest in the Maritimes.
Judy MacDonald
Judy has an interest in art glass, china, and crystal. Judy loves Victorian glass and will offer her collection of glass epergnes, lemonade pitcher sets, brides baskets, and bohemian mantle lusters. She has a wonderful collection of perfume bottles, both empty and full. There are choices from miniature bottles to factices. As well, vanity sets, silver dresser jars, ladies compacts, and sterling silver brush or dresser sets. Judy has many items that were originally retailed by Birks, nicknamed “Tiffany of the North”.
